One of our favourite things to do underwater is pick up litter… is that weird?!
Join us for a two-parter weekend in which you can earn your PADI Dive Against Debris Specialty and conduct a survey at Cawfields Quarry with our very own Debris hero Nic.
The Fifth Point Diving Centre
7th April, 4.30pm – 7.00pm
Dive Against Debris Specialty Training
Join us for a chilled out evening in the dive centre with drinks and nibbles. You will learn about the messy problem of marine debris, what YOU can do about it and how to conduct your own survey.
The Fifth Point will provide this training completely free of charge. However, if you’d like to receive your Dive Against Debris certification and card, it’s £30.00 to cover the cost of PIC processing. Perhaps you’re working towards PADI Master Scuba Diver? This spec counts!
8th April, 10.30am – 3.00pm
Dive Against Debris Survey Dives
Now that the training is complete, it’s time to get that rubbish out the quarry!
Cawfields isn’t dived too often, and because of this it’s a right mess. The area is very popular with hikers and picnickers – as such, there’s a lot of litter that’s found itself into the water. It’s also a good excuse to get wet and explore this shallow little quarry if you’ve not been before!
